Riscure Inspector Subscription Model

Riscure Inspector Subscription types

We offer a version for every level of expertise and needs. All subscriptions include 4 software and feature updates per year, as well as access to our support services and workshops. Similar to the legacy Silver contract, repairs and extended warranty can be included for an additional fee. There is even an option to have your tools regularly calibrated. If you need help choosing the Subscription Model that best fits your needs, do not hesitate to contact us. If you are interested in the guts of our software packages, we have a list of modules with their respective functionality available.

Acquisition Professional

Acquisition is the basic Subscription package which provides your with all the acquisition modules, Inspector hardware driver integration and basic sample editing, trace editing and export modules. With the Acquisition subscription you can use our side channel analysis hardware without having to integrate the drivers into your own tool, saving time to concentrate on creating, using or extending your own DPA analysis tools.

 

Test Vector Leakage Assessment (TVLA) – Includes Acquisition

This subscription is for those who are not interested in breaking a key, or retrieving key material, but instead care about if and how much the product is leaking side channel information. TVLA provides a standardized scored test method that will tell you how much leakage there is and how confident you can be that the leakage is related to sensitive cryptographic operations. This package is ideal if you need to get a quick feel for side channel sensitivity, compare with countermeasures on/off or compare strength of devices. This version is suitable for both experts and those who are new to the hardware security analysis.

Analysis Professional – Includes Acquisition and TVLA

Everything you need to start with side channel cryptanalysis. The software version supplied with this subscription will provide you with all the essential statistics, trace and sample editing, post-processing and alignment steps. An extensive suite of leakage models for cryptographic algorithms combined with first order analysis, known key analysis and TVLA  will allow you to evaluate the strength of the device under test, retrieve key material or break full keys.

 

Perturbation Professional

Out-of-the-box solution for perturbation testing, also known as fault injection or glitching. This version supports all our fault injection hardware, program flow manipulation to skip security mechanisms such as secure boot, password verification or dump ROM code. In addition Perturbation Professional supports Differential Fault Analysis, a mathematical approach to retrieve keys using faulty and correct outputs.

Analysis Premium – All-in-one Side Channel Analysis package

If you are an expert user, or need to become one, Premium offers all features Inspector has to offer and meets all the major certification schemes that require side channel testing. This version includes 2nd/high order attacks, template attacks, Deep Learning attacks, cross correlation, automation for regression testing and scripting as well as advanced post-processing and alignment steps to overcome advanced countermeasures or noise in the device under test.

 

How do I migrate to the new Subscription Model?

Starting from 2018, in case you are acquiring Riscure Inspector for the first time, you do not have to worry about migrating. The quotation or statement of work you receive from us, already contains a Subscription package. If you would like to switch to a different Subscription package, please contact your local sales representative for information.

For those signed up to a legacy Support Contract: don’t worry, we will get you there. Our new model provides you with a yearly renewable license and allows you pay for the features you need on a yearly basis. This way we can ensure a sustainable model to keep you up-to-date with the latest security developments  and development of the tools. To summarize the biggest changes for existing customers:

  • Pay per year, decide per year. No matter whether you have new testing needs, or your testing needs changed, you can stop or upgrade/downgrade with a lower initial investment and more flexibility. After your subscription ends, you can still use our hardware through the SDK’s supplied.
  • Inspector 4.x and the support contract (Gold, Silver, Bronze) will be available for current contract holders until 2019. After 2019 you can continue to use 4.x but no maintenance or support will be available for this legacy version of Riscure Inspector.
  • New features planned for future releases will be available in our Premium feature package first. As new types of analysis and attacks become standard and commonly used, some of them will become available in the Professional feature package over time.
  • Support is included with our Subscription Model, no separate contract is needed.

 

Customers with a Support Contract can ease their way into the Subscription Model. We will offer you the Premium feature package to try out and make sure it is a smooth transition. Pricing and the timeline will depend on when you bought the tools, when your Support Contract expires and what Subscription you are interested in. We will be in touch in the near future to talk you through the options. If you are happy with the Inspector 4 version you have, you do not have to migrate. Riscure Inspector 4 maintenance and availability of legacy Support Contract will continue until the end of 2019.
