Riscure Completes PSA Certified Security Evaluation Project for Silicon Labs

Riscure announces that Silicon Labs has been awarded Level 1 of the Arm Platform Security Architecture (PSA) certification scheme,, for next-generation Silicon Labs IoT system-on-chip (SoC) devices.

Riscure announces that Silicon Labs has been awarded Level 1 of the Arm Platform Security Architecture (PSA) certification scheme, PSA Certified™, for next-generation Silicon Labs IoT system-on-chip (SoC) devices.

“IoT security requires proper architecture, implementation and verification,” said Marc Witteman, CEO of Riscure. “Riscure is dedicated to supporting customers like Silicon Labs in their efforts to implement a structural security mindset for IoT applications. We believe PSA Certified enables IoT vendors and their customers to address ever-growing concerns around privacy and security in connected devices through its efficient multilevel approach.”

PSA Certified provides a simple and comprehensive approach to security testing. It comprises two elements: a multi-level, security robustness scheme (Levels 1, 2 and 3) and a developer focused API test suite. PSA Certified enables devices makers to achieve the security required for their use case through these three progressive levels of security assurance, each requiring increasingly rigorous hardware and software evaluation, which are assigned by analyzing the use case threat vectors. This security assessment is checked by third-party evaluation laboratories such as Riscure.

“We believe industrywide collaboration is required to ensure all levels of IoT security needs are met for consumer and industrial products,” said Riku Mettala, Vice President of IoT Software and Tools at Silicon Labs. “Riscure’s evaluation and PSA certification underscore the quality of Silicon Labs’ IoT security solutions, providing designers and consumers with the data they need to determine if an end product is secure.”

“As we drive towards a world of a trillion connected devices, it’s our industry’s responsibility to enable trust in connected devices, the data they collect and the deployment of these devices at scale,” said Paul Williamson, VP and GM, Emerging Business Group at Arm. “PSA Certified, in partnership with leading security testing labs including Riscure, enables IoT solution developers and device makers to verify their solutions have been designed with a secure foundation, in line with Arm Platform Security Architecture (PSA) principles.”

Riscure is a fully accredited lab under the PSA Certified program and we are dedicated to helping our customers to improve the security of their products and gain market recognition. To discuss the evaluation of your IoT solution, please contact Riscure at inforequest@riscure.com.
