According to the agreement, signed between Riscure and The Academy of Broadcasting Science, the founding body of the ChinaDRM Lab, this collaboration aims to achieve three major goals. The lab operated together by ChinaDRM and Riscure will focus primarily on developing new security technology. The lab will also develop a security assessment methodology, including the scoring system for Side Channel Analysis. The lab will also carry out DRM-related security analysis, provide Side Channel Analysis and other security evaluation services, and will publish regular industry survey reports.

Marc Witteman, Chief Executive Officer, Riscure, commented: “It is very important for government institutions and industry consortiums responsible for certifying secure content delivery solutions to embrace the latest security research. Otherwise, security certification risks becoming a formality with limited impact on the objective security robustness of evaluated solutions. We are very pleased to see that ChinaDRM Lab recognizes this by choosing to partner with one of the strongest security labs in the Media and Entertainment industry. We are confident that this collaboration will help advance the security of content protection solutions not only for the Chinese market but also worldwide”.

The joint lab founded by Riscure and ChinaDRM aims to actively cooperate with academic research institutions in China, The Netherlands and other countries to help develop new security talent. The lab will use Riscure equipment to conduct the security assessment and research projects, and Riscure’s experts, as well as specialists from the ChinaDRM Lab, will contribute time to work on the lab projects together.
