Riscure at CHES 2010

At CHES 2010 Riscure will present demonstrations of Inspector Side Channel Analysis and Inspector Fault Injection. CHES 2010 is a workshop on cryptographic hardware and embedded systems. The workshop is a forum for new results from the research community as well as from the cryptography and security industry.

Riscure publishes improved DPA method at SAC 2010

August 12-13, 2010, Ontario, Canada

One of the DPA optimization methods discovered at Riscure, EDPA, has been further researched in collaboration with the Technical University of Eindhoven.

The resulting paper, "Improving DPA by Peak Distribution Analysis", has been accepted at SAC 2010 (http://sac2010.uwaterloo.ca/).

A predecessor of the new method, Cross-Correlation, has been available in Inspector for some time, and EDPA will be released soon.

Paper: principles on the Security of AES Against DPA

June 22-25, Beijing, China

Jing Pan will present her paper "Principles on the Security of AES Against First and Second-Order Differential Power Analysis" at ACNS 2010 Beijing.

This paper shows that power leakage of some intermediate values from the more inner rounds of AES can be exploited to conduct first and/or second-order DPA attacks by employing techniques such as fixing certain plaintext/ciphertext bytes. We give five general principles on DPA vulnerability of unprotected AES implementations, and then give several general principles on DPA vulnerability of protected AES implementations.

Inspector User Workshop 2010
