What's new in 4.0 FI
The fault injection functionality is new to Inspector. Inspector 4.0 FI uses the existing Inspector software core, as well as the functions for controlling hardware and several signal processing features of Inspector SCA. For fault injection, the following features have been added:
- Perturbation functionality to configure and load a glitch program on the VC Glitcher and analyse the results from a glitch run.
- Several example perturbation modules to configure a fault injection test run.
- Dedicated fault injection instruction set to program any new perturbation module from within Inspector.
- DFA modules for DES and RSA.
- Several tutorials available to practice glitching functions and to perform DFA on training cards.
- Two sets of training cards are supplied with this release. One card runs DES to practice DFA and an example program to practice glitching a PIN verification. On the other card, DFA on RSA can be performed.
- New communication interfaces to control embedded devices. Interfaces for serial port, tcp/ip, and for using the external serial interface of the Power Tracer. A reference C implementation is provided for the embedded device under evaluation.
